The further we get into ourselves and our emotionalism, the farther we get from Reality. Our freedom and luxury to have and nurse hurt feelings in built on the backs, sweat, and blood of those who couldn’t afford to be offended. Society would have collapsed, imploded. If the Founding Fathers had allowed their fragile egos to prevail, the United States would have disintegrated hundreds of years ago. Principles, it was built on principles irrespective of how it made them feel. We must seek for Truth. Objective, real Truth is required to build and re-build societies.
Every thing is at stake now, the entire Western World tetters on the edge of extinction and we seem to be concerned that someone is “stealing” our culture; victims, we can all be victims…if we so choose. We cry and lament on lives we could have led and futures we think we are entitled to. It is so easily forgotten to actually live life in our crusades of vengeance.
I can hear the call from my Generation, Generation X, crying out for Truth, Reality Checks, and Reason. We desire Reason to come riding on a horse to save us. (C.S. Lewis, Pilgrim’s Regress). Proverbs 1 should be our meditation and our desire; “[…] to know wisdom and instruction, to preceive the words of understanding. […]” May we raise our children to be lovers and seekers of Truth, not lemmings of self-indulgence and victim hood.
If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair – CS Lewis
There is a clear path to Truth, it may be painful for a while but it will be worth it.
